Armistice Day - Reserve Bank Of Australia
Direction and Graphic Design
In 2018, for Freeman Ryan Design (FRD) I was responsible for developing a series of four, double-sided banners for the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) as part of their Armistice Day commemorations for the centenary of the end of World War I.
The concept behind the banners was to communicate and commemorate the huge role that the Bank played during the First World War using historical photographs from the archives of the RBA. My role was to create the design for these banners which would be displayed on either side of the four lightboxes placed around the foyer of the RBA’s Martin Place building.
A contemporary but conservative approach to the designs was crucial, as was making sure the banners aesthetically fit to the architecture of the foyer, such as the bronze detailing of the interior structure.
